iPod Touch 5G Releasing Next Month?

While the never ending hours have been passing by with our obsession for iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S and its recurrent delays, we’ve just been told that iPod Touch 5G might be releasing in October. The thought, no matter how simple, is soothing to our ears. And we are pleased with Apple once again.

Rumors suggest that iPod Touch is going to receive some minor updates and should be available in white next month.

According to an Apple blog:

We received information indicating that the next iPod touch revision will be a very minor change, with the primary addition being the introduction of a new white model. Only minor changes are expected for the existing hardware, with the addition of an oleophobic coating for the display and a revised ambient light sensor seemingly being the main differences. Otherwise, we expect the models to be nearly identical to the current fourth-generation iPod touch model.

This tells us that the rumors about iPod Touch 5G being compatible with 3G networks are still rumors. iPod Touch will not be supporting 3G networks this year and it will receive minor tweaks, at best. iPod Touch 5G is expected to release along with iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S in mid-October.

iPod Touch With 3G Capability?

We have all heard news about iPhone 5 releasing this month and many times, the report has proved to be right. But today, we have some news regarding a completely forgotten iDevice, the iPod Touch.

Our sources tell us that Apple is in the process of releasing the iPod Touch with 3G capability this month. This would be a perfect feature for iPod Touch 5G because a simple jailbreak tweak can turn it into a cheaper iPhone with calling and txting funtionality. This tweak was first used in the iPad 3G and worked like a charm.

AppleNApps is reported to have said:

After talking with multiple people over the past few weeks, we had a lengthy chat with one person who gave us great news about the next iPod Touch. We’ve used this person in the past, but they did qualify their remarks, saying that the iPod Touch changes should make it, but there’s no guarantee the changes will be ready for fall. The 3G iPod Touch idea intrigued us so much back in July, and we’ve been trying to find one of our contacts who can give some credence to the idea. A few have declined to comment, while others honestly have no idea, but the source for this report says that Apple is indeed working on a 3G iPod Touch. Apple is intent on announcing the device during their September event which they usually save for their iPod line, but will include the iPhone as well this year.

3G Capable iPod Touch in Development?

A long time ago, we were informed that Apple will be introducing a new generation iPod touch along side a new iPhone. Now we are starting to receive hot and ready to be served rumors which state that the above statement is actually true.

According to AppleNApps:

It is said that Apple has already started working on increasing iPod touch’s abilities to those of iPad; such as data-only service plans. This is highly probable as Apple has always tried to enable their iDevices and Mac products with always-on connectivity.
