When you play around with Windows 8 Release Preview you will undoubtedly notice that Windows Media Center is missing. Fortunately, there is a way to manually add the software in just a couple simple steps, and this articles describes how you do that. Below is a screenshot with the end result, Windows Media Center in Windows 8. In terms of features it is identical to the version in Windows 7.
Microsoft has made it possible to add (paid for) features to the operating system. This system is already integrated into Windows 8. Open the Charm on the right-hand side of the screen (move the cursor up) and use the search tool to find “Add Features to Windows 8″. A programme will open, then select “I already have a product key”. Use the following key:
Agree to the terms and conditions, and then Windows will automatically install Media Center. The OS will need to restart once, and then you have access to Media Center in Windows 8 Release Preview.
